Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to 12 children from a poor family kids who would grow together eventually, learned very early how to get out of the difficulties she faced with her incredibly vivid imagination. Even before learning to write or read and compose her own songs. After getting her first guitar at age of 8, she began performing on radio stations in Knoxville in Tennessee. The first album she recorded was within the same calendar year on Gold Band Records, a tiny independent label. Her name was made on the local circuit while in high school, however she wanted to perform on a larger stage. The day after she graduated in 1964, she relocated to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her two first charting albums for Monument Records. At about this time Porter Wagoner was looking for a new girl singer for his syndicated television show. Parton accepted the role in the year 1966. She she joined RCA Records in 1968, and then the Grand Ole Opry was founded in the year 1969. The show was cancelled by Wagoner, however, in 1974 due to her solo albums like Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene beat out their collaborative albums. Parton's hit song, I'll Never Have Love for You (for Wagoner), was able to reach the No. number 1 position after the duo broke up. For the first time, in 1974.
